Job Title: Acute Care Physician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Acute Care Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Acute Care Physician will be responsible for providing excellent medical care to patients in acute care settings. This includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, managing emergency situations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for patient care, excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide care for patients in acute care settings, including emergency departments, urgent care centers, and intensive care units.
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and medical history reviews to diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, imaging, and electrocardiograms, to develop accurate treatment plans.
- Administer appropriate emergency procedures, including CPR, advanced cardiac life support, and trauma care.
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established guidelines and standards of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, specialists, and ancillary healthcare providers, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding acute conditions, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Document patient encounters accurately and promptly, including medical history, physical examination findings, treatment plans, and procedures performed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in acute care medicine and maintain board certification through continuous medical education.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a residency program in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine.
- Board certification or eligibility in relevant specialty.
- Current unrestricted state medical license and DEA registration.
- Strong clinical skills and the ability to diagnose and manage acute medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and medical software.
